Step-by-Step Guide to Configuring Your MIDI Controller

  1. Access the Preferences Menu

    •    To begin, open MixMeister Fusion and navigate to the preferences menu. You can do this by selecting:

         - `MixMeister Fusion > Preferences`

Once you're in the preferences section, locate and click on the MIDI tab.

  2. Select Your MIDI Device

    •    In the Hardware Control drop-down list, you will see a selection of connected MIDI devices. Choose your device from the list. If you're unsure which device to select, try choosing USB Audio Device, as this is often the default for many controllers.
  3. Choose the Control Template

    •    Under the Control Template option, select the template that matches your MIDI console or controller. MixMeister Fusion offers several preset templates, which map the controls of popular MIDI devices automatically. If your controller is not listed, you can proceed to manually configure the settings.
  4. Customize Your Controls

    •    After selecting your control template, click on the Customize button. This will open up the MIDI configuration list, where you can assign controls for specific functions.
      • Click on the effect knob, fader, or button you want to assign to your MIDI controller.
      • A confirmation message will appear once the effect has been selected.
  5. Teach Your MIDI Controller

    •    Now that you’ve selected an effect, move the knob, fader, or button on your MIDI device that you want to assign to this control. MixMeister Fusion will detect the movement and assign the control accordingly.

         - MixMeister Fusion does not provide a direct feedback message once the control has been programmed. To verify that the control is assigned correctly, you will need to exit the MIDI configuration window and test the control in real-time.

  6. Test the Control

    •  Exit the MIDI configuration dialog and try out the control you’ve programmed. For instance, if you assigned a knob to control an effect, turn the knob on your MIDI controller and see if it manipulates the effect as expected.
