The MPC Sample includes a hidden Amp Simulator effect that can be used to process live guitar signals connected to the rear input. To access and configure the inbuilt amp sim, please check through the steps below:
1. Hold the SHIFT button while pressing the KNOB FX button.
2. The FX menu will open. At first, you'll see a list of delay effects with "LP Filter" displayed in the upper-left corner.
3. Turn the Main Encoder clockwise and continue scrolling through the available effects until you reach Amp Sim. Press the Main Encoder to select and enable the amp simulator.
4. Use the control knobs to adjust the amp settings:
K1: Selects the cabinet type – This helps shape the overall tone from bright and punchy to warm and full-bodied.
K2: Adjusts the drive amount – This controls how much amp-style distortion or saturation is applied to the signal.
K3: Adjusts the soft clipping level – This adds subtle compression and warmth by gently smoothing peaks before they distort harshly.
5. Once enabled, the Amp Simulator will process any live guitar signal connected to the MPC Sample's input. It can also be applied to individual pads. Any illuminated pad will be routed through the amp simulator. To remove the effect from a pad, simply tap the pad so it is no longer illuminated.
