It is possible to load a sample directly into an audio track, on the MPC. 


To do so, select an Audio Track.  Then, select "Browse Samples".


At times, the "Browse Samples" button is greyed out, and is not selectable.  

When this occurs, it is because the Zoom tool is selected, in the Audio track view.  Select any tool, besides the Zoom tool (magnifying glass icon).
