MPC Beats | How To Set Up 16 Levels With Your MIDI Controller

If your MIDI controllers pads do not correctly trigger the onscreen 16 level pads in MPC Beats, please follow the steps below...

1. Press CTRL + Shift + L on your keyboard to open the MIDI Learn panel.

2. Ensure that the ENABLE button in the MIDI Learn panel is active, then click the corresponding dropdown menu and choose the factory mapping for your MIDI controller.

Note: If your controller is not on this list, go to User > New Mapping, then select the LEARN button in the MIDI Learn panel to create a custom mapping for your controller.

3. Click the 3 lines in the top-left corner of your screen and go to Edit > Preferences...

4. Under the MIDI/Sync tab, ensure that TRACK, CONTROL, and GLOBAL next to your MIDI controllers name are all active, then click OK.

5. Press Shift + F on your keyboard to open the Bottom Panel and take a note of the number which corresponds to your chosen pad (A01, A02 etc).

6. Click the 16 Level button, then under the Pad dropdown menu, make sure that the pad number you noted in step 5 is selected, then click Close.

7. Strike your pads to enjoy using the 16 Level feature.
