In this article, we will be learning how to quickly send program changes to your MPC using an external MIDI controller.
Please Note: This will only work if your MIDI controller is capable of sending program change messages like the LPD8 MKII.
Your MPC can be configured to receive one of the following program change messages from an external MIDI device: Program, Sequence or Track.
You can configure this by going to: Menu > MIDI / Sync. Please scroll to the very bottom of the MIDI / Sync menu.
From here, select one of the following options: Program, Sequence or Track:
Once selected, your MPC will react to Program, Sequence or Track changes using the program change number you have configured on your external MIDI device.
For example, in the LPD8 MKII editor, we have configured the following program change (PG) messages:
PC 0 for Program, Next Sequence or Track 1
PC 1 for Program, Next Sequence or Track 2
PC 2 for Program, Next Sequence or Track 3 and so on.
