What Types of Media Can Be Played on My Projector?
Files played natively from a USB Drive or from a phone connected in USB Drive mode can be played. For more information, on compatible file types, please see Why is my projector not recognizing the files on my USB thumb drive?
Everything that outputs via USB Drive is a file loaded from your phone onto the built in media player within the projector. As such streaming services and video played from your own device/phone would not play over USB; for those connections you would instead use a connector to send your device's audio and video output from the port to an HDMI cable, provided the device is able to pass this information. For more information, please contact your phone's manufacturer.
Any source that is able to output to HDMI otherwise should then be able to project to your Projector provided you are using the HDMI port on the projector- Chromecasts, Fire Sticks, ROKU, Laptops and etc.
I Can See Video but I Cannot Hear Audio
You should always check the volume settings on your device, program, and the projector's volume first and foremost. Some streaming services and media players may have audio settings, of which we would recommend PCM. Should that not be available, Stereo is also an acceptable option.
When possible, we do recommend downloading a video from your streaming service for offline play instead of streaming.
If you are still getting music from your phone or computer despite having the HDMI hooked up, you may need to plug into the Aux input with a 3.5mm aux cable. This can happen with computers. When it occurs with a phone, you would need to use a dock like a camera connection kit, provided they are compatible with your phone. In cases where they are not, bluetooth may also be an option, though it may have some lag.
I Can Hear Audio but I Cannot See Video
This is usually a sign that your player or media has HDCP protection written to it. This may also manifest as an error that specifically mentions HDCP. To solve this, Be sure to use at least an HDMI 2.0 cable.
(1) Disconnect the HDMI cable from both devices
(2) Disconnect the power cables
(3) Reconnect the HDMI cables
(4) Reconnect the power cables and power on devices.
On some devices, you will have the ability to change the display setting from 4k to 720p which may also help resolve this issue.
