In this article we will go through steps to troubleshoot plugin related errors.

Scenario: Plugin is not downloading to my drive

Error: One of the plug-in folders is missing

Error: Download failed with code: 0 or 200

When plugin instruments and FX are downloaded on your MPC, they will be stored in a Synths folder on a Content Download Drive (Internal, SSD, USB drive, SD card etc).

On default, this location will be InternalHowever, we would advise changing this to an External Drive (SSD, USB drive, SD card etc) to free up space on the MPC's Internal drive.

Solution - Check that you have a drive selected: Go to Menu > Preferences > Activations > Content Download Drive and tap Change

Solution - Check your network connections: Your MPC will require an active internet connection to download and activate plugins. Please refer to the below articles to assist with this:

Solution - Drive Space: If you find that your plugins are not downloading or functioning correctly, double check that the drive has enough space.

Scenario: I have duplicate plugins in Sounds menu

Scenario: My plugin is missing it's GUI

Error: Set Preset failed: Error parsing preset file

Solution - Delete Synth folder: The MPC only requires one Synths folder to download plugin instruments and FX - Either on the MPC's Internal drive or an external drive (SSD, USB drive, SD card etc).

If by chance you have multiple drives connected that have been used as the Content Download Drive at some point - you may face the above issues.

To resolve this, locate the Synths folder on all drives and delete it:

  • MPC Internal Drive: Menu > Browser > Places > Internal. Highlight the Synths folder, press the Shift button and tap Delete.
  • User Drives: Menu > Browser > Places > [Your Drive Name]. Highlight the Synths folder, press the Shift button and tap Delete.

Once this has been done, perform the following steps in order:

1. Power off MPC
2. Power on MPC
3. Go to: Menu > Preferences > Activations and set the Content Download Drive to your chosen external drive (i.e user-installed SSD, SD card or USB drive)*

*Note: This external drive will need to be permanently connected to your MPC when activating and installing your plugins. We would suggest using an SD card or user-installed SSD (MPC Live, Live II, X, X SE and Key 61 only)

4. You should now see download icons appear besides all of your plugins. Tap these icons to start a fresh installation of your plugins:
