Changing USB Cables Does Not Solve My Problem

If you've received error messages such as "USB Device Not Recognised" while connecting a MIDI controller or audio interface to your computer, and changing USB cables hasn't fixed the problem, the USB port on your device may need to be cleaned.

1. Dip a flattened cotton bud into Isopropyl Alcohol and use it to wipe around the interior of your USB port.

Follow up by wiping away any loosened dirt with a microfiber cloth.

2. Use a can of compressed air to blow into the USB port at an angle to remove any debris.

3. Inspect all of your USB cables, if they look dirty or old in any way, please apply the same cleaning techniques to the cable's USB connectors.

4. Connect the newly cleaned cable to the newly cleaned port on your device.

5. Open the Device Manager (Windows) or System Report (Mac) to check if the interface is recognized.
