⚠️ Important: Before starting, make sure your MPK mini mk4 is running firmware version v01.31 or later.
Check Firmware Version
Disconnect the MPK mini mk4 from your computer.
While disconnected, hold the SHIFT and UNDO buttons.
Connect the USB cable while holding the buttons. The OLED screen will display your firmware version.
If the screen shows v01.31, you're good to go. Otherwise, follow the firmware update instructions found here.

Install the Logic Pro Script
Close Logic Pro before continuing.
Download the latest Logic Pro control script (version
v0.10.0-40). You can find this from our official downloads page.Run the
.pkginstaller to complete the script installation.
Enable DAW Control Mode
On the MPK mini mk4, press the PLUGIN/DAW button until it lights up red.
This confirms that DAW mode is active.
Auto-Assign Controls in Logic Pro
Launch Logic Pro with the MPK mini mk4 connected.
When prompted, select Auto Assign from the dialog box.
Once this is complete, your controls should be automatically mapped.

Manually Set Up the Script (Optional)
If you missed the Auto Assign prompt or want to manually assign the controller:
Control Surface Setup
Open Logic and go to Logic Pro > Control Surfaces > Setup.
Select the MPK mini IV surface.
Set both MIDI Input and MIDI Output to
MPK mini IV DAW Port.

Enable MIDI Controllers
Logic Pro should do this automatically, but to confirm:
Go to Logic Pro > Control Surfaces > Settings
Select the MIDI Controllers tab.
Make sure MPK mini IV is checked/enabled.

Troubleshooting
Confirm DAW Mode is Active
Press the PLUGIN/DAW button on your MPK mini mk4.
Make sure it’s lit red, indicating DAW mode is enabled.
Remove MIDI Device from Audio MIDI Setup
If the controller is not showing in Logic, try the following:
Close Logic Pro.
Disconnect your MPK mini mk4.
Open Audio MIDI Setup:
Applications > Utilities > Audio MIDI Setup
Go to the MIDI Studio tab (
Window > Show MIDI Studioor pressCMD + 2)Locate MPK mini IV in the MIDI Studio window.
Delete the device by pressing the backspace key or clicking the – icon.
Reconnect your MPK mini mk4 and reopen Logic Pro.
