Custom Audio Routing Reset in Traktor Pro 4.4.2

The improved Audio Device handling implemented in version 4.4.2 is not backward compatible with previous configurations. Consequently, updating to Traktor 4.4.2 will revert all audio device settings to their default values.

If you use a custom audio configuration—such as a specific sample rate, buffer size, output or input channel routing—you must reconfigure these settings manually after installing the update.

Affected Settings

The following preference pages are reset to default:

  • Audio Setup > Audio Device > Sample Rate
  • Audio Setup > Audio Device > Latency / Buffer Size
  • Output Routing > Mixing Mode
  • Output Routing > Output Monitor / Master / Record
  • Input Routing > Input Deck A / B / C / D

How to retrieve your previous Settings

If you do not have your previous settings documented, you can retrieve them by launching your previous version from the Backup folder:

  1. Close Traktor 4.4.2.
  2. Navigate to the Backup folder on your system:
Mac: Applications > Native Instruments > Traktor Pro 4 > Backup
    Win: C: > Program Files > Native Instruments > Traktor Pro 4 > Backup
  3. Launch the previous version's executable file.
  4. Connect your audio device(s) and open Preferences.
  5. Note down your settings for Audio Setup, Output Routing, and Input Routing.
  6. Close the software and restart Traktor 4.4.2.
  7. Manually re-enter the captured settings in the Preferences menu.

Additional Notes

  • 3rd-Party MIDI Controllers: Non-Plug-and-Play controllers will lose their Output Monitor (Headphones) assignment. To fix this, go to Preferences > Output Routing and re-select the correct left and right channels under the Output Monitor section.
  • Other Settings: This reset only applies to Audio/Routing configurations. All other Traktor settings (Layout, Effects, Loading, etc.) are correctly transferred to version 4.4.2.
