Troubleshooting blurry waveforms and GPU crashes in Traktor Pro 4

Symptom

During playback, the waveforms in Traktor Pro 4 become blurry or frozen, followed by an application crash or audio dropout.

Cause

This is often linked to the internal/dedicated GPU switching on laptops.

Solution

This issue is currently being investigated by our developers. To stabilize your system, apply these settings:

  1. Disable Multi-Core Processing: Go to Preferences > Audio Setup and uncheck Multi-Core Processing. While counter-intuitive, this prevents thread-collision during GPU spikes.

  2. Force Static Waveforms: Switch your Deck Header view to Essential or Small to reduce the GPU rendering load.

  3. OS-Level GPU Locking (Mac): Go to System Settings > Battery.

Disable Automatic Graphics Switching (if available) to force the computer to use the high-performance card exclusively while Traktor is open.

  4. Refresh Rate Sync: Ensure your laptop screen is set to a fixed refresh rate (e.g., 60Hz) rather than "ProMotion" or variable rates, which can cause frame-buffer desync in TP4.
