What does VAT mean in the webshop?

VAT stands for "Value Added Tax", which is an indirect sales tax. If you live in the European Union (but outside of France or Germany) and are exempt from VAT, you can fill in your VAT-ID (VAT No.) in the appropriate field during checkout in our webshop. Note: Adding your VAT-ID will not remove VAT from checkout, but will give you the opportunity to claim VAT upon filing your annual tax returns, as it will be detailed on the invoice.  

Before finalizing the order process, the VAT will be deducted from the sales price to avoid double taxation. Please make sure that you are actually exempt from VAT for purchases in the EU before you fill in your tax ID, otherwise please ignore the optional field for the VAT-ID.
