Native Instruments | Help with Buying or Selling Second-Hand
You can sell your Native Instruments product by unregistering its license and obtaining a License Transfer ID for the buyer. Some products are not transferable due to technical restrictions, third-party licenses, or license types like NFR or educational versions. Buyers use the License Transfer ID to import the license. If you buy hardware second-hand, ask the seller to transfer the license or purchase software separately to use the hardware.

I want to sell my product
You can sell your NI product after unregistering its license from your user account HERE.
You will receive a License Transfer ID, which enables the new buyer to import the product to their user account.
Why is my product "Not transferable"?
- For technical reasons, serial numbers are automatically excluded from license transfer for 60 days after registration.
- If you want to remove a third-party license from your NI account or transfer it to another user, you have to contact the manufacturer of the library directly. Most manufacturers make the deregistration themselves.
- For some products like Maschine, we frequently offer supplements like Komplete Select, Komplete Elements, Komplete Selection, etc. If a new Supplement is released, it replaces the former version. You only need to transfer the current supplement version.
- NFR ('not for resale') product versions cannot be resold or transferred. The same applies to educational licenses (EDU).
I've received a License Transfer ID from a seller - how do I use it?
You need the License Transfer ID to import the license to your account. You can find detailed instructions HERE
I've bought a hardware product second-hand - where is my software?
If you have purchased the product second-hand, please ask the seller to request a license transfer as explained in THIS VIDEO.
If you cannot contact the seller, you can still use your new hardware. Registration of the hardware is not necessary to use it. You can simply acquire the software separately to use with your hardware:
- Maschine 3 (Maschine 3 software is only compatible with Maschine MK3 controllers)
- Traktor Pro 4
- Komplete Start (for Kontrol keyboards)
- Drivers for your hardware
