Native Instruments Support Native Access

Native Access | Installing Different Versions of the Same Native Instruments Application on one Computer

Installing Different Major Versions of the Same Product (e.g. REAKTOR 5 and REAKTOR 6)

While a minor product update (e.g. REAKTOR 6.0.3 to REAKTOR 6.0.4) will automatically replace any older existing program version, different major versions like REAKTOR 5 and REAKTOR 6 can coexist on the same computer. They are treated as different programs and therefore do not depend on each other. This means you don't have to install REAKTOR 5 on your computer before you can install the REAKTOR 6 update and on the other hand the installation of the REAKTOR 6 update will not interfere with or change an existing REAKTOR 5 installation. This applies to all Native Instruments products.

Note: It is only possible to activate a major program update if an earlier version of the same program is already registered in the same user account.

If you update to a new major version (e.g. from REAKTOR 5 to REAKTOR 6) and want to keep the possibility to load sequencer projects that use the older plug-in version, you need to keep this older installation on your computer - older plugin versions within a sequencer project will NOT automatically be replaced by newer versions.

Upgrading to Different Flavors within the Same Product Generation (e.g. TRAKTOR PRO 2 to TRAKTOR SCRATCH PRO 2)

An upgrade between different program flavors of the same generation (e.g. TRAKTOR PRO 2 to TRAKTOR SCRATCH PRO 2) does not require any separate installation since the application remains the same but the license type (e.g. TRAKTOR SCRATCH PRO 2) allows for unlocking specific features of the program (e.g. the ability to use Timecode vinyl / CDs).
